Our Year End Camping Trip

We as a class went too kananaskis Alberta is was so fun just to be out in the wilderness and enjoy a break from my kids. i really had fun climbing mountains and exploring the wilderness, we went on 2 big and scary hikes and went rafting in a fast flowing river wich was frezzing cold, we also cliff jumped into the same frezzing water. I was so sure that i wasn't going to make it up the mountain but i did it and was proud of myself i accomplished what i thought i could never do again. But i also experienced drowning in rapids currents in my early life and i thought i would never do that again but i did. I almost fell into the rapids and could of drownd but My boyfriend saved me from falling out i thought he wouldn't but he did. It was fun just to chill and relax with my class mates and enjoy the out door. We seen lots of animals but no bears i really would of thought that it would be cool to see a bear but at the same time scary. I just want to say that Mr nickell is one of the best teachers i ever had as a high school teacher and we'll miss you next here thanks for letting me go on the trip.

Survival skills on how too.

We as a class tryed to make a fire with a stick and string to make a bow but it didn't work because the stick wasn't strong enough and the string was to weak maybe when we go on our trip we can try to make a fire. The hardest part about making the bow fire is the tieing the string too the stick and getting it tight into a bow .

Easter break

My Easter break was pretty much layed out. I just stayed home with my childern and played with them at the park on the nice evenings, watched movies. I switched around the bedrooms in my house, did the cleaning and cooking for my kids and me. i had a few challenges with my kids displining them and being consistant when they act up. I sure think being a parent could be difficult some times, But other times its so fun to play with your kids and watch them grow....

Survival skills

How to build a Fire with no matches or lighter!
- you firstof all need to have a minie knife to cut a stick and a log,Some tender, bark dry leaves, piece of wood and some rocks.

1.Cut a stick for the drill for the hard wood.it should be about 15 inches long and 2 inches thick. Round the end, carving one to a point.
2.Choose a piece of soft wood such as a pine or balsa, cut a V shape notch in the side. Fricition between th edrill and hearth will create ash.
3.Dig out a small hole beside the notch for the drill point to fit into spinning in the hole will fall throuh the notch onto the hinder.
4.Use a piece of hard wood as a bearing block with which to press down on the drill. Carve a hole for the top of the drill in the center.
5.Cut a strong hardwood stick for the bow, about 2ft(60cm long) and 1 in (2 cm) thick. Lossely tie string or natural cord to both ends, making sure it is slack enough to wind around the drill.
6. Notch the center of the drill and wind the bow string around it. Place tinder beside the notch in the heart. Set the drill point in the hearth and place the bearing block on its top end. Rotate the drill by pulling and pushing the bow, whilepushing down on the drill with the other hand. Smoke will soon be produced, along with hot ash and sparks, which will fall from the notch onto the hinder.
